The much-awaited new inauguration of The Lana, Dubai by Dorchester Collection has welcomed its first dining and overnight guests. With 225 rooms and suites and eight unique dining concepts—four developed in collaboration with three of the most renowned chefs in the world—the Foster + Partners-designed hotel is a striking architectural statement that epitomises refined living and reliable hospitality.
The chic hotel’s interiors, designed and implemented by the renowned Parisian team Gilles & Boissier, feature a thoughtfully selected collection of over fifty art pieces commissioned by domestic and international artists. The first Dior Spa in the United Arab Emirates will debut in April 2024 and be housed in The Lana.
A NEW ERA FOR DORCHESTER COLLECTION
The Lana, the eleventh hotel in the Dorchester Collection, is the next development in the unmatched, all-around service and quality sensibility of the brand. Being the group’s first new venture in over ten years, the property raises the bar for timeless care, design, and charm in Dubai.
Designed and overseen by developers based in Dubai, OMNIYAT, The Lana represents the initial stage of a new chapter being curated for the Downtown Dubai region. Founder and chairman of OMNIYAT, Mr Mahdi Amjad, expressed his vision and plans for future developments in the field, saying, “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Dorchester Collection to launch their first-ever comprehensive hospitality offering in Asia and the Middle East. Our shared goal is to create extraordinary experiences.
Representing the city’s expansion and development as a center for individuals seeking a refined lifestyle, The Lana stands today in Marasi Bay Marina and symbolises our commitment to converting the region into the ideal luxury enclave in the center of Dubai.
DISTINCTIVE DESIGN
For the 30-story structure, Foster + Partners drew inspiration from Dubai’s constantly shifting skyline. The strikingly integrated architecture includes an infinity rooftop pool with views of the surrounding desert and cityscape, as well as a central pedestal for dining and shopping called The Lana Promenade.
Space and light are what distinguish the interior design by Gilles & Boissier, which is influenced by modern minimalism and the sunny weather of Dubai. The designers were influenced by the diverse range of cultural influences present in the United Arab Emirates, emphasising the use of textures and minute details. With floor-to-ceiling glass windows that let in natural light and offer expansive views, every room has an outdoor patio.
